Building Porter

Position Summary:

This position assists in ensuring proper physical upkeep of assigned property, performing general interior and exterior maintenance and cleaning tasks as necessary.

Position Responsibilities:

• Clean common areas of property as well as vacant apartments during turnover.
• Gather and empty trash, both inside and outside of building.
• Service, clean, and supply common area restrooms.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Clean windows, dust furniture and walls.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

1-3 years of maintenance / janitorial experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Problem solving skills.
• Dependable and good time management skills.
• Ability to work with all levels of employees and residents.
